Network and System
monitoring with problem reporting
We can monitor
your servers, critical workstations, and network devices such as
routers, NAS drives, etc.
What do you watch for?
We can
monitor in many ways...
•Basic
PING - Confirms the network availability of a system or
device.
•Port
Monitor - Confirms the availability of a specified port and
the service associated with that port.
•FTP
and HTTP - Confirms the availability of a Website or an FTP
Site by monitoring at the actual file level.
•DISK
SPACE - Confirms the drive space used, or the drive space
remaining of a pre-determined threshold.
•System
Processes - Monitors system processes for any failures.
•System
Services - Monitors services, and can restart a service on
failure.
•Event
Log - Watches the system event log for certain set events and
reports.
How
do you notify me of potential problems?
When a potential problem
or a failure is detected by our monitoring system, you have two
options.
Our first level of
service is "NSI Basic Monitoring". In this case, you would be
notified by either email or text messaging as to what the problem
is, and which device is reporting it.
The second level of
service is "NSI Premium Monitoring", which is the same as basic,
except we solve your issue remotely, or work with your IT staff to
solve the issue if remote connectivity is unavailable.
An "RRE" (Rapid Response
Engineer) service is also available upon request.
What do I need to provide to NSI for monitoring?
We would require a small
space, enough for a PC that we install at your location. All
security policies and levels are met on the monitoring station
before it becomes part of your network.
The reason we place a
station on the inside of your network, is to be able to monitor
critical systems without opening extra ports on your external facing
routers. This provides better security, and better accuracy in
reporting as some services cannot be monitored through a firewall.
You would also need to
provide a network account for the monitoring system with high enough
permissions to stop and restart services, monitor drive thresholds,
etc.
Wow, this is
exactly what I need, how do I reach NSI?
Drop us an
email. The address is below, and this address is monitored all
the time.
